The journey of adoption….
May 1st, 2006
Each night ends the same. The house is dark and I can hear Tanya sleeping in the bedroom. I stand a moment in the children’s room. It is lit only by the light of the moon filtering through the partially opened blinds. The beds are still empty. And yet, when I still myself, I can hear their breathing too. Somewhere in Russia they are waking.
I walk over to the crib and can almost see our son. I can almost hear our daughter turning in her bed. With each passing day as we approach the time when we will finally meet face to face, the feeling that grows is one of missing them. This is the journey of adoption. It is filled with emotions that suprise. It is filled with questions; and above all, it is filled with hope.
So, I hope you will excuse me as I log out for tonight, I think I hear my children calling…

At this point it is a waiting game. Our dossier is in Russia and we are waiting for children to become available. The soonest we are likely to see referrals is probably end of September.
Hope things are going well with you
