Agenda Redux Update

January 15th, 2007

It has been a while since I have talked about Agenda Redux and I know some of you check to see what is happening. I apologize for the long delay in updates, but it has been a busy time for me these last six months. Sadly that has translated to little work performed on Agenda Redux.

My main focus for the past several months has been the adoption process. The day job has also been much busier and in addition to that, I have had some small paid work. That has not left much time for Agenda :(

The project is still on my queue, and it is something that will get more active again. Before that happens, however, if it is something you are interested in, I do need to hear from you. I need people, who will use it, to provide me use-ability ideas and feedback. If you are interested, just send me an email. My email address is my first name at And as it says on the bottom of the page, my last name is Tandon.

I would love to try out your Agenda version. I have tried to access it a few times but all I can get it an error message:
    Application error
Rails application failed to start properly”

On a related note, can you tell me what programming language was used for the origanl Agenda versions.

I need to upgrade the current code out there to be consistent with the latest RoR pushed out on my host.

The original Agenda was written mostly in C, but with some assembly and even some machine language.

Any news about Agenda Redux? I tried going to the web site, but looks like it’s no longer active.

It’s been a while, is this still an active project? I tried going to and it’s not working…

    Two things have happened:
    – My wife and I adopted two children
    – I now run development for a company called Imagine Sports

As a result, I have no time to work on this any more :(

Congratulations on your children and good luck with the development company.

Is there any chance that you’d make the work you’ve done this far available for others to look at and use?

Congrats as well on you new children.

I’ve taken a few stabs at trying to replicate Agenda’s functionality and was looking into Ruby or SmallTalk (Squeak+Seaside) for the next try.

Is there any chance at seeing your work and trying to build on it?

Agenda was a tool that was literally decades ahead of it’s time and if we could bring it back now I think people would finally understand what to do with it.
